| | | Animals These paintings are, in truth, portraits. I am drawn to the spirit of
these animals. . . whether it is the breathtaking beauty of a newborn
colt, the magnificence of an Eland, or simply the wonder my cat
expresses while watching for and dreaming of birds. |
| | | | | Birds I
believe that I enjoy painting birds more than any other subject. I am
absolutely fascinated by the delicacy, grace and color of these
majestic creatures. Most of these paintings are of birds that either
breed or winter in the state of California. |
| | | | | Domestic Felines I have been blessed to have had many cats in my life. My partner and I have been further blessed that we had them with us for such a long time. The oldest, our first cat--Ariel--lived to be 21. Most of the paintings in this collection were painted for an exhibition. I have found that I really enjoy painting these mysterious creatures. |
| | | | | Portraits I began my art career as a portrait artist. These works are some of my
favorite paintings from the past 30 years. Although my path has taken
me in another direction, I still love painting what I call "the
landscape of the face." |
