These paintings are, in truth, portraits. I am drawn to the spirit of
these animals. . . whether it is the breathtaking beauty of a newborn
colt, the magnificence of an Eland, or simply the wonder my cat
expresses while watching for and dreaming of birds. |

I
believe that I enjoy painting birds more than any other subject. I am
absolutely fascinated by the delicacy, grace and color of these
majestic creatures. Most of these paintings are of birds that either
breed or winter in the state of California. |
| | | | | Domestic Felines
I have been blessed to have had many cats in my life. My partner and I have been further blessed that we had them with us for such a long time. The oldest, our first cat--Ariel--lived to be 21. Most of the paintings in this collection were painted for an exhibition. I have found that I really enjoy painting these mysterious creatures. |

Each image is printed on Hahnemuehle Photo Rag, 308 gsm or Hahnemuehle German
Etching 310 gsm papers. Our giclee
printer is an Epson Stylus Photo R1800 using Epson UltraChrome Pigmented
Ink. The print is finished with two coats of Desert Shield Water
Resistant Lacquer. Golem Art Prints meet
all the standards to be considered fine art prints.

I began my art career as a portrait artist. These works are some of my
favorite paintings from the past 30 years. Although my path has taken
me in another direction, I still love painting what I call "the
landscape of the face." |

Shandel sells selections of her images as notecards. Each box of cards comes with seven cards on acid-free high quality paper and seven envelopes. Packaged in a plastic box the Notecards sell for $12.00 a box. |
