My interest in wildlife begins at home where my partner and I live with
our six cats: So-Fi, she of the sixteen toes on her
two front paws; Mum-Kat, who came to us one winter's night; Max and Rusty, our
shelter kitties; Miss Meow's A-Lot, who came from the Humane Society. We call her Miss M or just "M" as she has a
harlequin face with a line down her nose separating her dark and light halves. Finally, there is George, an orange tabby who found his way to us. George has come to fill the BIG paws left by our beloved Lu-C-Fur who passed away at nearly 20 years old.
Four years ago, while adopting Max, we became acquainted with the El
Cajon Animal Shelter. Unlike some of the County shelters, the El Cajon Shelter
is a city shelter serving El Cajon and La Mesa. Staffed by wonderful and caring
individuals, the shelter is working to raise funds to build a larger, more
modern facility. Our adoption of Max began our association with ACES, the
Animal Center for Education and Services Foundation.
Over the past several years, we at Golem Art have donated prints for
silent and open auctions and made donations to help raise funds and awareness
for several of these worthy organizations.
