Organizer /Web Designer



Introduction:  

I began my experience as an Art Organizer in 2003, when I accepted a position as a Board Member with the La Jolla Art Association. It was around this time, that I became familiar with web design using Zhibit.org web creation programming. Until then, I had concentrated exclusively on my portrait work.  Since then, I have balanced my artistic and organizer/designer selves. I appreciate both areas of my life and particularly enjoy developing materials to support the artists and the organizations I work with.

Experience:

2003 - 2004: La Jolla Art Association, La Jolla CA: Exhibitions Director
  • Revamped Exhibitions Procedures for 50 year old non-profit gallery
  • Facilitated Color Pencil Society of America exhibition in LJAA Gallery
  • Initiated San Diego City Schools Student Art Shows and Competitions
2004 - 2006: La Jolla Art Association, La Jolla CA: Vice President to President
  • Initiated Sponsored Lecture Series for Artists and Public in San Diego Public Library System
  • Assisted in several Fund Raising Events for organization, including public relations, graphic design work and publications
  • Facilitated Gallery relocation from non-profit gallery to commercial gallery space in La Jolla, CA.
2007 - 2010: Pastel Society of San Diego, San Diego, CA: Newsletter Editor, Web Designer and Annual Open Juried Show Co-Chairperson
  • Redesigned and published PSSD newsletter
  • Designed and created original PSSD website: www.zhibit.org/pssd
  • Designed Application Brochure and produced all materials associated with the PSSD Annual Juried Exhibition (see attached brochure)
2006 – 2011: Mission Trails Regional Park, San Diego, CA: Art Coordinator
  • Revamped the entire exhibition program including jurying procedures, legal documentation, press releases
  • Developed all publications including signage and brochures (enclosed)
  • Curated and displayed monthly exhibitions
  • Initiated San Diego City Schools Student Art Shows in MTRP Gallery
  • Assisted in planning Fund Raising Events which benefited Mission Trails Regional Park
2009 - Present: Pacific Southwest Wildlife Arts, Inc.: Board Member, Webmaster
  • Revamped 2-D and 3-D exhibition (non-carving) programs including jurying procedures
  • Developed all publications including various brochures (see attached) for organization
  • Designer, creator and webmaster of PSWA website: www.pswa.net
  • Artist Liaison for California Open Wildlife Art Festival
  • Redesigned and published PSWA newsletter and news briefs
2012 – 2015: Friends of the Redmond Branch Library (FORL), Redmond, OR: Art Committee
  • General Committee Work including planning of Art Events
2013 – 2015: FORL, Redmond, OR: Art Committee, Chairperson, Board Member, Webmaster
  • Designer for all FORL publicity and signage, invitations, brochures, ads, prospectuses etc.
  • Creation and dissemination of all FORL paperwork for art in-take, take-down, forms etc.
  • Curating, hanging of artwork in the Redmond Branch Library.
  • Liaison between the Art Committee and the Redmond Branch Library, artists and the public.
  • Designer, creator and webmaster of the FORL website.
